Some Assembly Theatre Company and Roundhouse Youth Theatre Action Group Project
Home inspires the search for home within ourselves and our communities. When a favourite local hangout is threatened with a corporate takeover, the employees and regulars band together to save the place they call home. Through a journey of brave disclosures and transformation, they discover their individual and collective power. Motivating positive social change, Home encourages dialogue and explores the violation of home within ourselves and our communities. The play includes non-graphic discussions about body issues, substance use and sexual assault. Home also provides hope, a little humour, and engaging live music. Facilitated talkback sessions follow each performance.
Celebrating its 16th season, Some Assembly’s collaborative plays with youth and professional artists build awareness, promote wellness and encourage dialogue about issues facing youth.
A collaboration between youth from all over the Lower Mainland and Some Assembly Theatre Company with artists Valerie Methot, Ken Lawson, Jeremy Baxter, Anna Talbot, Athena Ivison, Allen Morrison and Matt Clarke.
