Drums, bass, and Lights! Drum + Light; an exciting evening of live music, high energy, love for music, and dancing. The Drum + Light performance will have you out of your seat, feeling rejuvenated, and empowered by the passion and power of the music.
“Empowered by the passion and power of the music”
Drum + Light is a replication of an electronic dance stage but with a live orchestra replacing the DJ. The live orchestra will be jamming to beats pre-decided by the Hard Rubber Orchestra.
John Korsrud, a Hard Rubber Orchestra member since 1990, graduated to composer and drummer for Drum + Light Concerts in 2008. John has been mesmerized by the power of music from hard core electronic to Frank Sinatra to world music but he has always had a soft spot for jazz and classical music. John’s passion and love for music runs deep and strong. During our conversation I was overwhelmed by this love. It was apparent he adores every aspect of music.
John’s advice for aspiring musicians, “Do as many things as you can: produce, compose, and perform so that you can find your drive and inspiration. As well, learn and appreciate many styles and genres to have a deeper understanding of music in its finest.”
“Learn and appreciate many styles and genres to have a deeper understanding of music”
2013 Drum + Light is especially close to John’s heart. John hopes Drum + Light will be the most captivating musical production ever seen by Vancouver. He wants to capture the true beauty of sound through a live electronic drum orchestra while the audience are in a trance and dancing the night into pure salvation.
Typically, post-performance John transcends to a place of bliss and serenity; he trusts that Drum + Light will be true to this pattern and that his audience will share in this experience and enjoy the blissful passion.
